How Long Can You Record on Spectacles?
If you’re just recording video, you can take up to 150 video snaps, but this will depend on how long your videos are. Longer videos mean fewer Snaps altogether, and since most people don’t take exclusively videos or pictures and rather a mix of both, this will also impact how much you can record. Luckily, though, all Snapchat Spectacles videos are recorded in HD, and if you have a pair of second-generation or third-generation Spectacles, you’ll record at 60 frames-per-second, too.
How Many Pictures Can You Take on Spectacles?
You can store 3,000 picture Snaps on your Spectacles at one time. However, this will naturally be impacted by having videos on your Spectacles as well, meaning less room for pictures. Snapchat Spectacles pictures are also taken in circles, as opposed to the rectangular screens of phones. This means that when viewing, or when someone else opens a Snap you send them, one can rotate their phone to see more of the image.
Where Snaps Are Stored on Spectacles
Until imported, Snaps are saved on the Spectacles themselves. After being imported, Snaps are deleted off Spectacles by default and stored in the Memories section of the Snapchat app. From Memories, you can send Snaps to whoever you’d like as well as save the image directly to your phone for use outside of the Snapchat app. To access Snapchat Memories, simply open the application and swipe up: This will open your Memories tab. If your Snaps are not automatically imported into Memories, there will be a pop-up within Memories giving you the option to import Snaps from Spectacles, which only takes seconds. As a result of all this, Snaps are pretty regularly moved off Spectacles onto your paired phone, so there never tend to be many Snaps stored on the Spectacles themselves, since Snaps are deleted off your Spectacles when imported.
