How to Use the Galaxy Book Pro 360 in Laptop Mode

Samsung’s Galaxy Book Pro 360 is a 2-in-1 laptop available with a 13.3-inch or 15.6-inch display. Both models can convert from laptop to tablet mode and back again. Laptop mode is the Galaxy Book Pro 360’s default configuration. It will remain the default unless you activate tablet mode. Once the device is tablet mode, you’ll need to manually switch out of tablet mode to return to laptop mode. Here’s how to do it.

How to Automatically Turn on Laptop Mode

The steps above can be completed in a few seconds once you know them, but you don’t have to perform them at all. Windows includes a setting to automatically turn tablet mode on and off for you. The Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 ships with this setting off, but you can turn it on. Here’s how. The Galaxy Book Pro 360 will now automatically turn on tablet mode when you rotate the display 360 degrees so it’s flat against the bottom of the device. Tablet mode will also turn off when you move the display away from that position.

What Is the Galaxy Book Pro 360’s Laptop Mode?

Technically, the Galaxy Book Pro 360, like most Windows 2-in-1 devices, doesn’t have a laptop mode. You will notice there’s no setting or option labeled laptop mode, and you’ll find nothing if you perform a Windows Search for the term. Instead, Tablet mode is either on or off. The 2-in-1 will work like any other Windows laptop when tablet mode is off. It’s implied the device is in laptop mode when tablet mode is off, but you won’t find this referenced anywhere in the Windows operating system.
