How to Tell If Discord Is Down
If you think the Discord servers are down for everyone, try these steps to check:
What to Do When You Can’t Connect to Discord
There are several things you can try if Discord seems to be working fine for everyone else, but you’re still having connection issues: If you can’t open Twitter either, then the problem is likely on your end or with your ISP. If no one else is having an issue with Discord, then the problem is likely something on your end. If nothing has worked yet, you’re probably dealing with an internet issue on your end. Contact your ISP to request further help. If you think that the browser or app isn’t closing properly, or it gets stuck, restart your device and try again.
Discord Error Messages
Discord is a fairly reliable service most of the time but when it has issues, it often displays error messages that explain why you can’t connect. For example:
Discord No Route. This error occurs when trying to connect to a voice channel and your network can’t join it. It’s usually caused by an overenthusiastic VPN, firewall or antivirus. Sometimes a restart fixes it, other times you need to make Discord an exception on your firewall or antivirus. Discord Won’t Open. This happens when there’s an issue with your app. Reinstall the app or switch to using the browser-based version.
If Discord is down with a message about maintenance, wait it out is your only option. The service should resume at some point soon.
