Every version of this router also uses the default username of admin. When asked for the WGR614 password, just enter that. Although the username and password are the same for each version of this router, the first five versions (1–5) have a default IP address of 192.168.0.1; versions 6 and newer use 192.168.1.1.

If the Default Password Doesn’t Work: Reset the WGR614

If password doesn’t work when you log in, then it’s been changed at some point to something else. Changing the default password of any device, including the WGR614, is an important security practice. The downside is that it’s easy to forget. Reset the NETGEAR WGR614 router to restore the username and password to the factory defaults:

If the default IP address doesn’t give you access to the router, it most likely means that it was changed at some point. To find the correct address, you want to locate the default gateway IP using any device that’s connected to the router.
