In a blog published on Tuesday, the social network said it is looking for users to apply to test the two new features. Android and iOS users can apply to try out Ticketed Spaces, while only iOS users can apply to test out the Super Follows feature. Both features are designed to help users make money off of the platform. “We want to help make Twitter not just a fun place to engage your audience, but a place where you can earn money driving great conversations—whether you’re just starting out or have already built a following,” Twitter wrote in its blog post. The Super Follows feature—which initially was announced in March—helps users earn monthly revenue on Twitter by offering an extra level of content and interaction as a monthly subscription. For content creators, this means a customizable price point from $3-$10 to offer to their followers. In turn, followers receive bonus content and interaction, meaning you could possibly get your DM answered by your favorite celebrity. Ticketed Spaces allows users to create unique and exclusive audio experiences within Twitter’s Spaces feature that audiences will have to pay to listen to. Twitter said the prices will range from $1 to $999, with users able to set the size of their Ticketed Space to have either a more intimate setting or a larger audience. Users can earn up to 97% of the revenue from these two subscription options after platform fees on in-app purchases. Twitter said the features would be available broadly in the coming months. For the average user who’s not a Twitter celebrity, these new features mean you’ll be able to have more intimate experiences with your favorite influencers, artists, celebrities, or public figures, but you’ll have to be willing to pay for it.
